Poem from the heart

  • Feeling:

"My Beloved Susan"

We met just seven years ago,
when I first saw you, my heart began to glow,  
our first date would start it all,
soon in love, I surely did fall,
two months after this wonderful day,
here are the words that I did say,
honey, I love you, your so full of life,
would you stay and be my wife,
to this question you would answer yes,
walking the aisle in your wedding dress,
no matter what happened you stuck by my side,
for five years it was a bumpy ride,
through thick and thin our love just grew,
whether we were happy, or just feeling blue,
you comforted me and made me feel good,
that was something that no one else could,
you never put me down or made me feel like less,
you just held me tight, my body you would caress,
always so loving and full of life,
you are a wonderful mother and a beautiful wife,
we had our spats like any married couple did,
though we didn't have much, our life was splendid,
you made me happier than you could ever know,
I wish I could have done more to make it show,
when things started to change, we began to rise,
I couldn't believe it was happening, even seeing it with my own two eyes,
I should of listened to the words you did say,
you were preparing me for what would be my saddest day,  
I didn't listen because I didn't want to believe,
I wish I could go back, to your warnings I would heed,
you wanted to soar, you wanted to fly,
I know your happy, but I can't help to cry,
you wanted to travel, you wanted to roam,
you finally can, you are truly home,
you wanted to go, you wanted to see,
well baby, you got your wish, you are finally free.
